Review of a private Georgia tour from Tbilisi to Mtskheta, Gori, Stalin Museum, and Uplistsikhe, with practical tips on price and pacing.

“I really wanted to just go to the Stalin Museum but this tour had a few add-ons as well. I was pleasantly surprised with the Uplistsikhe caves! They were really well preserved and in tact unlike some of the other ruins you go to in some countries where you have to "imagine" what used to be there. We were able to climb around in the caves and I enjoyed the wine tasting as well! Stalin museum was really well done (it helps if you know Russian) and I was especially impressed with Stalin's personal train.. that was super cool to go on. Lunch was great at a Georgian cafe! **At…”

“Tskaltubo is a very interesting town with abandoned so called sanatoriums. This is an ideal place for people enjoying decayed buildings and ones interested in photography. I enjoyed the tour a lot and the lunch place recommended was also nice.”

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 8 reviews · 7 to 8 hours (approx.) · from $95

Review of a private Tbilisi day tour to Mtskheta, Gori, Stalin Museum, Gori Fortress, and Uplistsikhe, with practical booking advice.

“This was not a “tour”. This was a guy - Misha (only know his name from the booking!) - who picked us up at our hotel (late) and quite literally just drove us to only 3 of the 4 stops mentioned in the “tour” and dropped us off at each site. We did not go to Gori Fortress which was supposed to be a stop. He made no offer of water all day. No conversation, no description, no telling us where we were… He spoke very little English and made zero attempt to talk. It was complete silence from min he picked us up to the end of the day.…”

“Very interesting tour. Our guide David let us all the time we needed, so it was very relaxed in spite of the full program. On top of the tour he organized a very nice wine-tasting for us. We enjoyed the day very much - and learned a lot about Georgia.”

“The tour was nothing short of wonderful! Giorgi, the guide, is reliable, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The tour was very relaxed, like being among friends... the pick-up was super punctual, as were all the other transfers. We started by visiting the Fabrika area and then moved on to the suburbs to admire the decorated buildings. Giorgi also gave us lots of useful tips for our next few days in Tbilisi. I recommend this tour to anyone interested in street art and learning a few local anecdotes!”
